Jacob Baker of Carrollton made an initial appearance in Carroll County Common Pleas Court Thursday.
Baker, 29, was indicted on a charge of voluntary manslaughter (Felony 1) last week in connection with the Nov. 16, 2019, shooting death of Robert (Bobby) Sikon, III. At the time of the shooting, Baker was a Carroll County Sheriff Deputy, having served in that capacity for nearly a year and a half.
He pled not guilty to the charge and was released on $50,000 personal recognizance bond. He was represented at the hearing by Attorneys Kimberly Kendall Corral and Aaron A. Schwartz of Patituce and Associates of Cleveland.
