The return of fireworks to the Carroll County fairgrounds to celebrate July 4th was a huge success and plans are already in the works for next year.

Members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) Ladies Auxiliary #2185 said the event, held July 5, was such a success, they have a nice deposit for the 2025 event.

“We took in $8,000 at the event, which is a nice start for next year,” said Miranda DaRare, one of the organizers of the event. “We estimated between 700 and 1,000 came through the gates at the fairgrounds for the event.”

The group raised the necessary $22,000 for the fireworks display and extra costs, such as security and other essential services through sponsorships prior to the event.

The event was the first fireworks display at the fairgrounds since before COVID hit. The Eagles Auxiliary also hosted the last event.

“It’s been at the forefront of our plan to bring the celebration back,” Da Rare said. “It was a great success, but of course with all events, there were some hiccups.”

She said they found out the 15 food trucks on site had long lines most of the night and some visitors suggested next year the group includes some more traditional foods.

“We hope people see what a great success it was, and more food trucks will participate next year,” DaRare said.

There are also plans to expand the kids play area, which was filled with kids of all ages enjoying the bounce houses.

“We also want to expand the kids play area next year,” DaRare said.

“From the turnout and comments we received, I think people were excited to have the fireworks back,” DaRare said. “We want to thank the community for all the support and for making it a success.”
