\ufeffThe Brown Local Board of Education approved an agreement with the Malvern Education Association at the Jan. meeting with pay increases in each of the next three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two parties mutually agreed to reopen negotiations and to follow an Interest Based Bargaining (IBB) format.  Successful Interest Based Bargaining is effective when all stakeholders have a relationship built on trust and collaboration. The agreement remains the same for the current year, and provides a three percent salary increase for the 2021-2022 school year and 2.5 percent increases for 2023-2024 school years. Health insurance premiums will increase to 15% throughout the contract. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis contract is fair and represents a positive step forward for our staff, school district, community and especially our students\u201d said Tami Warner, MEA president.  \u201cThe Board and the MEA are committed to working collaboratively with open communication and trust in the best interest of our school district. This agreement allows our teachers to focus on putting students first and continuing to grow professionally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cThis agreement shows the commitment of the board to hire and retain high quality staff while also being financially responsible and making great use of our district resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ufeffThe district leadership team is very grateful for the dedication, creativity and professionalism of everyone involved in the negotiation process. All stakeholders believe the future of Brown Local Schools is very bright,\u201d said Superintendent Mark Scott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
