Thanksgiving has arrived and holiday events will begin. A listing is provided below. 

Activities

Carrollton:

The Ashton House Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Dec. 24. Decorated for the season. Located at 120 3rd St. NW, Carrollton. 

Nov. 26 – Jonathan White Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m. at Carrollton Bible Chapel, 365 Steubenville Rd. SE, Carrollton. Public invited with a cookie reception following. Admission is gloves or socks for Loaves and Fishes. Info, call Judy, 330-323-5610 or the church at 330-627-7376.

Nov. 26 – “Unveiling of Trees” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the McCook House Civil War Museum in Carrollton. The Museum will open at 10 a.m.  The event is free. Donations are welcome.

Nov. 27 – McCook House Civil War Museum “Unveiling of the Trees” and Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m. featuring Kathy Horn and Tim Tilmant at the McCook House Civil War Museum in Carrollton from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event is free. Donations are welcome.

Nov. 30 – Snow globe craft at Carroll County District Library at 5:30 p.m. using a recycled jar. 

Dec. 3 & 4 – McCook House Civil War Museum “Unveiling of the Trees” at the museum in Carrollton from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free. Donations are welcome.

Dec. 5 – Country Christmas Craft Show 2-6 p.m. at Century Farms Barn. Free admission. Donations of NEW stuffed animals will be accepted and donated to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Leesville:

Nov. 26 – Annual Christmas lighting in circle at 6 p.m.

Magnolia:

Dec. 4 – Drive-thru visit with Santa 10 a.m. to noon at Magnolia Volunteer Fire Dept. Children can give Santa their wish list and receive a goodie bag. 

Minerva:

Dec. 4 – Downtown Wonderland. Crafters, vendors, food, visits with Santa.

Dec. 10 – Alliance Symphony Big Band Holiday Concert at the Roxy Theatre, 114 N. Market St.

Malvern:

Dec. 3 – Gingerbread Land Story Time at Malvern Branch Library from 10:30-11:30 a.m. For ages 6 and younger. Stories, crafts and games. For info, call 330-863-0636. The library is located at 710 E. Porter St., Malvern.

Salineville:

Dec. 5 – Vendor Show 1-6 p.m. at Salineville United Methodist Church. Food onsite and Christmas pictures. 

Church 

Nov. 28 – Dec. 19 – Advent Study for all ages 9:30-10:15 a.m. at The Bridge. Gather for scripture and prayer prior to breaking into groups (preschool-5th grade) and teens/adults. Babies and toddlers welcome. 

Nov. 28 – First Sunday of Advent-Theme: “God is with Us in the Valleys.” Hanging of the Greens at 10:30 a.m. at Amsterdam Church of God. 

Dec. 3 – Advent Festival at Carrollton First United Methodist Church 6-8 p.m. Games, Christmas pageant, meal. Sign at church or the Bridge. 

Dec. 5 – Second Sunday of Advent-Theme: “God is with Us in the Wilderness.” Annual Christmas Dinner at 6 p.m. Donna and Gary Zook will lead Christmas carols at the Amsterdam Church of God.
