Around the county…

December – Mondays – Lunch 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. by donation at the Warren Twp. Community Center on SR 212 in New Cumberland.  Includes many sides, dessert and a drink. Plus, The Loft Resale Shop open 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  

Tuesdays – Carrollton Rotary Club meets at St. John’s Villa at noon. 

Dec. 4 – Community Breakfast at Loudon Twp. Community Center 7:30-10 a.m. Includes eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, hash brown and beverages. By donation. Proceeds go toward maintaining the building. For info, call Judy at 330-323-5610 or Donna, 330-340-5298. Last breakfast until April 2, 2022. 

Dec. 4 – East Springfield VFD Auxiliary Quarter Auction at 9854 CR 39, Bloomingdale. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Auction begins at 12:30 p.m. $5 fee includes one paddle. Additional paddles $1. Food onsite. For info, call 740-632-8658.

Dec. 6-10 – Carroll County District Library Holiday Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will be held December 6th through the 10th.  Hours are:  Monday & Tuesday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Wednesday & Thursday 9 a.m.–7p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–6 p.m.  Gift wrap will be available to wrap up purchases. Call 330-627-2613 for more information.

Dec. 8 – Free Community Blessing Drive-Thru Dinner 5-7 p.m. at Perry Township Hall. Combined dinner for November and December. No dinners will be served in January and February 2022. Anyone needing assistance during that time, should call Pastor Dixie at 330-663-3202. Dinners are sponsored by Perrysville and Pleasant Hill United Methodist churches. 

Dec. 8 & 9 – Carroll County Coats for Kids distribution 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Social Hall on Moody Ave. 

Dec. 12 – Author Kathy Horn book signing for “The Everlasting Kind” from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Grand Tea Room in Carrollton. 

Dec. 16 – Grand Tea Room is hosting Carl Winters at 6 p.m. who will speak on the Van Horne building.
