Mary Jane (Marshall) Schmitt, 88

Mary Jane (Marshall) Schmitt, 88, passed away Aug. 8, 2021.

Born July 5, 1933, she was a daughter to the late Ellis and Lucille Marshall.

Jane graduated valedictorian of the Carrollton Schools Class of 1952. She received her undergraduate degree from Hiram College and her master’s degree in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve.

Jane was retired from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

She is survived by two daughters, Kelly and Jenny; three grandchildren; her twin sister, Ann Finnicum; a nephew, Richard Finnicum; and niece, Polly Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away Aug. 2, 2021, six days before Jane.

Internment is planned at Westview Cemetery next to her parents.
