Senior quarterback Jacob Whitmore accounted for all three Carrollton touchdowns in a 21-14 win over Howland Friday night at Warren.
The win improved the Warriors to 2-2 on the season and offered the team its first look at the Tigers, who will join the Eastern Buckeye Conference for football only in the 2026 season.
Whitmore used his legs and arm to lead the Warriors to the win. The senior scored all three touchdowns on the ground, reaching the end zone in the first, second and third quarters on runs of two, one and four yards respectively. He carried the ball 14 times for 56 yards and completed seven of 11 passes for 114 yards as the visitors enjoyed 326-175 advantage in total yards. Whitmore threw two interceptions.
The Warriors trailed 7-6 after the first period, but the deficit didn’t last long as Hunter Allison converted the 2-point attempt on Whitmore’s second touchdown to tie the game at 14-14 at halftime. Paycen Havens’ extra point kick was good on the third period score.
Running back Levi Kiko surpassed 100 yards in a game for the first time this season. The sophomore gained 110- yards on 21 carries. Dalton Sweeney accounted for 43 yards on seven carries.
Allison led the receiving corps with two catches for 45 yards. Isaac Husted pulled in two balls for 15 yards and Garrett Broadwater grabbed a 34-yarder.

Hayden Thomas added six tackles and Ryder Varansky, Levi Crider, Jayven Johnson and Allison each had one tackle for loss.
Carrollton Coach Storm Hill was pleased with the effort of his team.
Levi did an excellent job running the football. He is a relentless worker and his time spent this offseason is paying dividends now. I know he understands those things can only happen with the efforts of the offensive line in front of him,” Hill said.
He also had praise for the defensive effort of his team in the second half.
“The defense did an excellent job in the second half stopping the run,” he said. “We challenged the defensive line at halftime and they did an excellent job stepping up to the plate.”
Carrollton travels to Akron Garfield this Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.It is the final non-league contest before the Warriors begin EBC play at Marlington Sept. 27.
