Two Carrollton seniors earned first team All-Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) honors in spring sports.
Hayden Jenkins was a first team baseball pick and Maleyna Havens a first team softball selection. The two were recognized as first team selections during the recent Eastern Buckeye Conference Spring Sports Banquet held at Sebring.
Jenkins was a standout pitcher for the Warriors who struck out 113 batters and ended his career with 221 strikeouts.
He plans to continue his athletic and academic career at Gannon Univeristy in Erie, PA, where he will play baseball on a college scholarship.
Havens, who was named offensive player of the year for the Warriors, had a batting average of 0.392, on base percentage of 0.439 and slugging percentage of .662. She hit four home runs, four doubles and 19 singles during 24 games and scored 18 runs. Havens collected 21 RBIs during the season and safely stole 10 bases (100%).
Other EBC award winners include:
Baseball: Second team – Aiden McCort (senior); Honorable Mention- Hunter Allison and Cooper Haun (both sophomores).
Softball: Second team- Kearsten Ball (sophomore); Juliaunna Miller (freshman), Marleigh Osolin (junior); honorable mention – Jordan Pittman (junior) and Olivia Gromley (senior).
Boys track: Second team – Levi Kiko (freshman) and Ricky Sibila (junior); honorable mention – Hayden Thomas (sophomore) and Quentin Rosenberger (senior).
Girls track: second team – Railey Macke (sophomore); honorable mention – Osolin and Kylie Ujcich (sophomore).
