Warrior bowling teams earn split in opening week action

Ryan Worth led the Warriors with a 412 series in the season opener against Perry.

Carrollton varsity bowling teams couldn’t muster enough pins to get past Perry on the opening day of the 2021-22 regular season but rebounded the following day to earn wins over Jackson.

The boys team fell to Perry 2,759-2,571 at Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton and defeated Jackson 2,476-2,360 at Parke Center while the Lady Warriors fell by 33 pins to Perry, 2,565 – 2,532 and downed Jackson 2,291-1642.

Boys action

Senior Ryan Worth led the boys team against Perry with games of 207 and 205 for a 412 series. Senior Clint Brackin added a 409 (193, 216) while senior Ian Pallaye rolled a 364 series (183, 173) and Brant George contributed a 357 (183, 174). Tyson Baker (149) and Tyler Ulman (167) bowled single games. Perry led 1,910 – 1,858 after the individual games and won the Baker 849- 713.

Pallaye and junior Kobe Green shared scoring honors against Jackson, both with a 427 series. Both scored identical games of 214 and 213. Worth added a 370 series (188, 182). Clint Brackin (159), Baker (178), George (179) and Eric Brackin (161) all bowled single games.

The Warriors won the individual games score 1,901 – 1,825 and the Baker rotation 575-535.

Junior varsity action

Carrollton defeated Perry 2,100-1,432, led by Craig Brackin with a 329 series (178, 151). The team lost to Jackson 2,059 – 1,937, led by Dustin Ulman with a 335 series (176, 159).

Girls action

Sophomore Zoey Elliott paced the Lady Warriors against the Lady Panthers with games of 234 and 156 for a 390 series. Junior Aubrey Taylor contributed a 387 series (182, 205) and senior Kellyn Harsh added a 348 series (179, 169). Tara Oberlin (173). Mackenzie Rummell (147) bowled single games. Perry won the single game total 1,856 – 1,808 and Carrollton won the Baker rotation 724-709.

The visitors controlled Jackson from the outset, winning the single game competition 19,23 – 1,374 and the Baker rotation 369-268.

Oberlin paced the winners with a 404 series (214, 190), followed by junior Joline Greaves 395 (211, 184) and Harsh 389 (221, 168). Rummell (227) and Elliott (179) bowled single games.
