Rockets fall to Buckeye Trail

The Conotton Valley Rockets hosted Buckeye Trail in an Inter Valley Conference (IVC) and Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) contest April 13 and fell 16-4. 

The Warriors took a 6-0 lead in the first inning, scored two in the third and fifth innings and finished with six runs in the top of the sixth inning. 

Rocket Pitcher Gaige Galigher went 4 1/3 innings, walking three, striking out two and giving up 10 runs from eight hits. 

Isaac Beaver pitched for the Warriors, walking six and striking out six. He gave up four runs on four hits.

Thursday, they traveled to Lore City to face the Warriors, falling 4-3 in extra innings. 

The Rockets trailed 3-0 in the top of the fifth but scored two runs and then tied the game in the top of the seventh. 

Zach Putnam took the loss after relieving starting pitcher Logan Reiter who lasted 1 1/3 innings allowing three runs. Putnam allowed just two hits and struck out four. 

Adam Walker paced the Rockets with two singles.
