CHS fall sports wrap up

Carrollton High School sports teams recently wrapped up successful fall sports seasons. 

Here’s a wrap up of all teams, including junior high. 

Varsity Football

Regular season record: 7-3.

OHSAA playoffs: Defeated Cambridge 37-21 in the first round; lost to St. Clairsville 38-9 in the second round. 

Finished second in the Eastern Buckeye Conference with a 4-2 record. League Standings: 1.) West Branch 6-0; 2.) Carrollton 4-2; 3.) Alliance 3-3; 4.) Canton South 3-3; 5.) Salem 3-3; 6.) Marlington 2-4; Minerva 0-6.

EBC Awards 

1st Team: Domanick Speelman, Austin Colletti, Isaac Moore and Chase Oehlstrom.

2nd Team: Doug Rininger, Austin Haney, Ben Zinda and Zack Martin.

Honorable Mention: Alex Johnson and Nate Baker.

JV Football

Record: 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the EBC.

Freshman Football

Record: 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the EBC.

8th Grade Football

Record: 0-8, 0-6 in EBC.

7th Grade Football

Record: 3-5 overall and 3-2 in EBC. 

Boys Soccer

Record: 2-14 overall and 0-6 in EBC.

Sectional tournament: Lost to Philo.

EBC Awards

1st Team: Tyler Baughman

2nd Team: Quentin Rosenberger

Honorable Mention: Andrew Steffen, Landen McClelland.

Girls Soccer

Record: 8-7, 1-5 in EBC.

Sectional tournament: Lost to West Muskingum.

EBC Awards

1st Team: Ariona Rutledge

2nd Team: Danielle Elson

Honorable Mention: Johanna Sieger, Lexi Shockey.

Volleyball

Record: 6-16 overall and 5-7 in EBC.

Sectional tournament: Lost to Philo.

2nd Team: Erin King

Honorable Mention: Jadyn Pidgeon, Lauren Marmo.

JV Volleyball

Record: 10-11, 5-6 in EBC.

Freshman Volleyball

Record: 4-11, 1-1 in EBC.

8th grade Volleyball

Record: 14-3, 9-1 in EBC

7th grade Volleyball

Record: 12-5, 7-3 in EBC.

Boys Golf

Record: 14-0, 12-0 EBC. League, sectional and district champions. Third place at Division II state tournament. 

EBC Awards

1st Team: Jaxon Rinkes, Colton Moore and John Birong.

2nd Team: Cayden Rininger.

Honorable Mention: Micah Barkan and Isaac Warner.

Girls Golf

Record: 11-2, 8-2 in EBC. Second place in EBC, fourth place at sectional tournament and third at district tournament.

EBC Awards:

1st Team: Ashlee Garner.

2nd Team: Pheobe Moore, Claire Hostetler.

Honorable Mention: Olivia Nist and Paige Davis. 

Middle School Coed Golf

Record 9-0, 8-0 in EBC. Winners of EBC tournament and EBC champs. 

Cross Country: 

Boys: 12th at district tournament.

EBC Awards: 

Honorable Mention: Andy Lane, Ricky Sibilia. 

Girls: Sixth place at district tournament, 18th place at regional tournament. 

EBC Awards

Honorable mention: Maddie Burgett and Hillari Baker.

Middle School 

Girls team: 8th at state meet.
