Willie Leonard Brown departed this earthly life on Oct. 5, 2022, in Canton, OH at the age of 79.
Willie was born to the late John and Florence (Parker) Brown on June 22, 1943, in Malvern, OH.
Willie enjoyed many things in life such as riding his bike through town, spending time with friends at the West End Inn and throughout the Malvern Community. Willie loved the Malvern Hornets, Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Ohio State and was a #1 fan of The Cleveland Browns. He was not only a fan…he was a loyal fan. Willie enjoyed many genres of music such as country music, rock and roll, and a little bit of blues. He was always kind and polite to everyone he encountered. Willie attended Brown Local Schools and went on to work for many years for his extended family, The Bersaglini’s at the West End Inn (Whom they Loved as their Own).
He leaves to cherish his memory: four sisters, Emma Brown-Griffin (Georgia), Dorothy Brown (Malvern), Faye Stokes-Gardner (Georgia), and Hope (Michael) Stinson, of Florida. He is preceded in death by brothers Herman and Dwight Brown. Willie’s memory will also be cherished by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Willie leaves many friends from the Malvern Community that will greatly miss him!
Funeral service will be held at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home, 434 West Main Street, Malvern, Ohio, on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernard Newsome of First Baptist Church of Malvern officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home.
