Paula M. Fankhauser, 67, of East Springfield, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 14, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Paula was born on Sept. 11, 1957, in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Homer Russel and Edna Marcelene (Tuttle) Booth.
A life member of the Amsterdam VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Paula was a dedicated volunteer who supported countless causes, especially those benefiting local youth teams. She was always ready to lend a hand, whether by making baskets or donating funds to help with fundraisers. Her selflessness and community spirit touched many lives, and she will be remembered fondly for her kindness and generosity.
Family was everything to Paula. Her grandchildren lovingly knew her as “Dabba” rather than the typical “Grandma.” She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, and her warm heart and joyful presence will be deeply missed by her family.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Keith Fankhauser; her daughter, Tyra (Rich) Warrington; three step-children, Scott (Kara) Fankhauser, Chris (Kelly) Fankhauser, and Casey (Tom) Sutton; grandchildren, Marcus, Mason, Jace, Ellia, Nora, Haven, Hazel and Gretta; and several brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, William F. Sack.
A private family graveside service was held at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, Ohio. Dodds Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
