Lucinda Lou McCord, 76

Lucinda Lou McCord, 76, of Bowling Green, Florida, passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring Florida on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024. Linda was born in Canton on Sept. 24, 1947 to James and Ruth (Wood) Schneider.

Lucinda worked as a dedicated Merchandiser for Lowe’s for many years, contributing to her community and workplace with diligence and grace. She was also a cherished member of The Wilds, where she found companionship and purpose. Lucinda loved Scabble and crossword puzzles while drinking Pepsi and eating pretzels. She also loved to read and taught her children to also enjoy reading. Lucinda was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for all of her children. She had an “attic” studio where she enjoyed painting in oils.

Her memory will be lovingly carried on by her surviving family: daughters Margaret (Steven) Marty of Big Timber, Montana, and Amanda Hodges of Orrville; stepsons: Erik McCord of East Rochester and David (Melissa) McCord of Minerva; and grandchildren: Renee, Michael, DJ, Justice, and Davin. Lucinda is also survived by a brother, James (Eileen) Jr; and three sisters: Nadine, Virginia, and a special sister, Linda, whom the family wants to express their deepest appreciation as Linda cared for Lucinda during the months prior to Lucinda’s passing.

In addition to her parents, Lucinda is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee McCord Jr., and her son, Francis Charles Perrin III.

Per Lucinda’s request, no services will be held. Her family and friends will hold her close in their hearts, remembering her with love and fondness. The family wants to encourage memorial contributions to be given to your local animal shelter.
