Katherine DaLonzo, 81

Katherine DaLonzo, 81, died July 12, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was greeted at heaven’s gates by the family she lost before her. She was the last survivor of her parents, and siblings. Katherine is the daughter of the late Lemuel David and Vada Virginia Rife.

Kathy was born May 7, 1940, in Chattaroy, WV. She was 16 years old when she moved to Wellsville. That is where she found her true self and met her soulmate, John P. DaLonzo. They created a bond that will never be broken, and have been inseparable ever since. The couple were married Aug. 25, 1962. Next month, August 2021, they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Together they have four children, Cassie DaLonzo, Annette DaLonzo-Holmes, Jonna Simpson and John DaLonzo II.

Katherine always had a passion for cooking and baking. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was the one who always had breakfast ready on a Sunday morning and was never afraid to try a new recipe. Kathy and John owned a restaurant together. Anyone who knows them has probably had their pizza, and probably still talks about it 30 years later.

Kathy and John have nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Kathy had an undeniable love for every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and made sure every one of them knew that before she took her last breath. Kathy is at peace now and will live on in everyone’s hearts forever.

There will be no public services, but the family will be holding a Celebration of Life in her honor.
