Joan D. Boggess, 90, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 while residing with her family.

Born on January 10, 1933, in Amsterdam, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John (Jack) and Ada Marie (Howell) Simpson.

Joan was a Christian by faith. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and gardening. She loved her family, and especially loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Rodger (Marylou) Boggess, Treva (Bill) Brenda, Regina (Rich) Costa, and Doretta Butto; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Boggess, and son, Rex Boggess.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 1 p.m. 2023 in Simmons Ridge Cemetery on Bear Rd. near Amsterdam, with Rev. David Guess officiating.

Dodds Funeral Home assisted the family with services.
