Jimmy Dale Patrick, Sr., 74, of Bowerston (Leavittsville), Ohio, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 1, 2022, in Akron General Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born Aug. 27, 1947, in Dover, he was the son of the late Dale and Nora Sizemore Patrick. His wife, the late Theda E. Rennicker Patrick, whom he married Feb. 26, 1966, passed away Jan.17, 2011.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Vonita Sampsel, May Price, Rena Haney, Lena Courim, Louise Fantin and Anita Patrick; a brother, Wishard Patrick; a grandson Justin “J. J.” Johnson; and a great-granddaughter Avery Johnson.
He retired in 2010 as an Oil Field Production Supervisor for the former M & B Operating Co. out of Magnolia where he was employed since 1971. He was a consummate outdoorsman who spent many hours fishing and hunting. He was an enthusiastic sports fan who followed the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He was a notoriously hard worker, but was most content either in his garden, in the woods or on the lake. He was a caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy Dale Patrick, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Leavittsville; a daughter, Mrs. Tonya (Bill) Bigler of Sherrodsville; a brother, Wiley J. Patrick of Bolivar; a sister, Virginia Fowler of Zoarville; his grandchildren, Jami Patrick, Jonathon Patrick and Brandon Johnson; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 4, at 11:00 a.m. in Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. John Dunn officiating.
