James “Todd” Martin, 53, of Minerva, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021.

Born Jan. 2, 1968, in Canton, he was a son to James “Phil” and Jeanne (Hanaoka) Martin of Minerva.

He was a deputy sheriff for the Carroll County and a maintenance supervisor for PCC Airfoils. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1986. He was a member of the US Marines Corps and served in Operation Desert Storm.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sons, Jared, Nicholas and Zachary, all of Mechanicstown; sister, Tai Martin of Warren, MI; and two brothers, Aron (Joann) Martin of Navarre and Robbie Chutaro of the Marshall Islands.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery near Rittman at a later date.

Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva was in charge of arrangements.
