Howard D. Barker Sr., 85 of Bloomingdale, passed away Sept. 28, 2021.

Born June 3, 1936, in Steubenville, he was the son of the late Virdie and Gaye (Kelley) Barker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruthie, and a granddaughter, Mackenzie Smith; three brothers, Cecil, Jack, and Brent; and two sisters, Katherine Gonguaware and Audrey Bocek.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Mills) Barker; sons, Howard (Brooke) Barker Jr., Robert Barker, Tim (Mary) Barker, Bonnie (Ronnie) Westfall and Marsha (Ross) Smith; grandchildren, Justin (Missy) Barker, Robert and Devin Barker, Colby Smith, Dylan Barker and Emma and Spencer Westfall; great-grandchildren, Kendall and Beau Barker; brother, Russell (Edna) Barker; sister, Mary (Bill) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a lifelong Jefferson County dairy farmer and was Presbyterian by faith.

Friends will be received Thursday, Sept. 30, from 1-8 p.m. at Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Richmond United Methodist Church with Pastor Byron Bufkin officiating. Burial will follow in Unionport cemetery. www.everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com
