Faye Eileen Pearson, 89, of Minerva, passed away at Community Care Center Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021.
Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Minerva, she was a daughter to Wilbur Pearson and Dorothy (Shaw) Pearson.
Faye graduated from Malone University with a bachelor’s degree in music. She played a variety of instruments, including the organ, piano, dulcimer, vibraharp and spoons. She taught private organ and piano lessons for many years. She played the organ for Bartley Funeral Home and at many different churches in the area. She worked at Pearson Auto Parts as a bookkeeper/ parts clerk.
Faye had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying for 15 years. For many years she participated in the Gee-Haw shows. She was active with the Algonquin Mill for 40 years. Faye traveled the world by participating in more than 17 short-term mission trips.
Faye is survived by a brother, Norman Pearson; and many nieces and a nephew: Regena (Brad) Bowman, Bryan (Georgann) Vosi, Lynette (Roger) Fessenmeyer, Valorie (Greg) Herman, Cindy (Dale) Brink, Amy (Martin) Schreyer, Jennie (Daryl) Yeager and Laurie (Don) Ward.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian J Vosi.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 5320 Arrow Rd., Minerva, with Rev. John Carpenter of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, from 12 – 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. All current CDC guidelines will be followed.
