Edna A. Lucas, 79, of Carrollton passed away on June 27, 2024.
She was born in Carrollton on Nov. 16, 1944, to the late William and Lena Berry. For over 30 years she worked at the Golden Age Retreat doing multiple jobs wherever she was needed. Cooking, laundry or as a nurse’s aide. Later she would work at the Circle K for 14 years. Faith and family were very important to Edna as she was raised in the Church of God and later attended the Carrollton Baptist Temple. Edna married the love of her life Blaine Lucas on June 20, 1964, and he passed away on July 25, 2016.
Survivors include her children Stephen Lucas of Carrollton, Kristina (Stephen Sell) Foster of Canton, and Ronald (Darla) Lucas of Carrollton; grandchildren Christopher Foster, Kelley Foster, Justin Lucas and Kayla Lucas; six step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Glenn (Marlene) Berry, Shirley (Bob) Forrest and Harry Berry; and one sister-in-law Alice Berry.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jeffrey A. Lucas; her siblings Evelyn (Harry) Hagan, Paul Berry and William Berry; and a sister-in-law Darla Berry.
Calling hours will be held this Friday, July 5, 5-8 p.m. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home and the funeral service will be Saturday, July 6, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Jarron Fry officiating. Burial will be in the Perrysville Cemetery.
