Barbara Emilie Royer, 70, of Minerva, passed away at her beloved home Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, and went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Born May 25, 1950, in Akron, she was a daughter to Lowell Newman and Esther Jo (Spinks) O’Dell.
She was a dedicated employee of 25 years at Stark County Board of DD where she worked as a specialist bonding with her clients over the years and nurturing them as her own. She volunteered her free time at St. Luke’s Assisted Living in Minerva. Barb was an avid doll collector and trader, but what she truly enjoyed were the friendships formed over the years. She really enjoyed gifting her collection to bring joy to others. Barb was a dedicated member of Faith Fellowship Church of East Rochester where she formed friendships and always put Christ first.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David Preston Royer; three children, Michael Royer (Joan) of Waynesburg, Brenda Mullaly (Pat) of Hutto TX, and lastly, Daniel Royer (Tami) of Summerland, FL;  three beloved grandchildren, Brendan Mullaly of Madison WI, and Sean and Colin Mullaly of Hutto TX; and a sister, Marti Sowash (John) of Salem.

In addition to Barb’s parents, Lowell and Jo O’Dell, she was preceded in death by a brother, David O’Dell.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. in Bartley Funeral Home, 205 W. Lincoln Way, Minerva, with Rev. Lee Iden officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held Feb.  from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bartley Funeral Home. All of the current face masks, social distancing and building occupancy rules will be observed according to the Health Department guidelines.
