SL Elementary students take top art honors

Southern Local Elementary School (SLES) students exhibited their original works during the 2020 Columbiana County Student Art Show Feb. 27 in Lisbon.
The event, sponsored by the Columbiana County Educational Service Center, showcased the talents of elementary through high school students and awarded the best creations.
Representing SLES were (at left) third-grader April Beadnell and kindergartener Lizzie Pirogowicz, who each received honorable mention for their renderings. Also, participating were first-grader Jaxyn Harris, second-grader Jaymen Maines, fourth-grader Jett Johnson, fifth-grader Cadence Thompson and sixth-grader Leah Batcha. Their work is on display in the SLES lobby and art teacher Kimberly Adams said her students have been recognized at the show for the past three years.
