James Lowther and Elizabeth Mayle

James M. Lowther and Elizabeth Mayle were named the Carrollton High School November Students of the Month.
Lowther is the son of Robin Lowther of Carrollton. He has one brother age 18 and two sisters, ages 25 and 24.
In school he is involved in National Honor Society, Band, Blessing in a Backpack, and he is a cafeteria helper. His hobbies include video games.
Lowther plans on attending Kent State for computer programming.
Who has influenced him and why?
“Mr. Brooks because he brings joy where he goes. Mr. Clark, Ms. Shawna and Mr. Matta because they help me as I help them in the cafeteria.”
His advice for success in life?
“Always have a smile.”
Mayle is the daughter of April and Joseph Mayle of Carrollton. She is an only child.
In school she is involved in Middle School Mentoring and Book Club Mentoring, and CHS Club.
Outside of school she is in 4-H, youth group and Purpose Institute which is a theological training program.
Mayle’s hobbies include art, specifically drawing and painting. She also enjoys creative writing.
She plans to attend Malone University and earn a degree in Integrated Language Arts and minor in theology.
After college, she plans to teach English in high school with the possibility of advancing to a professor and eventually establishing her own school.
Who has influenced her and why?
“My youth leader, Emily, has had a big impact on me. She has always been there during times of struggle, and has encouraged me to pursue education. Overall, her work ethic, wisdom and determination have been an inspiration to me.”
Her advice for success in life?
“In John 14:6, Jesus says ‘I am the way, the truth and the life.’ Life is unpredictable, and not every moment will be perfect, but I can honestly say that my life has been so much better with Christ in it. Seek Him.”
