Birong and Menarcheck are Students of the Month

Andrew Birong and Lilliana Menarcheck are the Carrollton High School November Students of the Month.
Andrew Birong is the son of Tom and JC Birong, of Carrollton. He has two brothers, Jimmy, 22 and John, 20; and two sisters, Maddie, 26 and Emma, 24. His extracurricular activities include soccer, basketball, volleyball and Our Lady of Mercy Bible Study (Dead Theologian Society).
He plans to go to Franciscan University and plans to start his own electrical business.
What teacher, coach, family member, or special friend has influenced you and why?
“My brothers, when we were young they taught me how not to hold a grudge,” said Birong. “My dad taught me to always try to make people laugh and my mom influenced me to take my religion more serious.”
What advice can you give for success in life?
“Not every opportunity comes twice, so don’t let any slide.”
Lilliana Menarcheck is the daughter of Angie and Robert Menarcheck of Carrollton. She has three sisters, Ali, 24, Penelope, 19, sophomore in college, and Dominique, 11, in sixth grade. Extracurricular activities include National Honor Society, Youth 2 Youth (Play), CHS Club, soccer and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
She plans to go to college at The Ohio State University to become a pediatric psychiatrist.
What teacher, coach, family member or special friend has influenced you and why?
“My sister Penelope, she always pushes me to be the best version of myself and is someone I can rely on to make me smile,” said Lilliana Menarcheck.
What advice can you give for success in life?
“Always work hard and try your best no matter how challenging things can get.”
