Open house planned at new senior living complex

An open house is planned this Friday (Nov. 22) to celebrate the opening of a new senior housing complex in Carrollton.

Hosted by WODA Cooper Companies, which oversees leasing and property management for the facility, will serve as hosts for the event, scheduled from noon until 5 p.m. at the 1059 Mace Rd. NE, Carrollton, location.

WODA officials said the afternoon event will provide an opportunity for prospective residents and neighbors to tour the property and meet with company representatives.

Hemming Crossing represents a $12.5 million investment in the community. It provides 40 new apartments including 12 one-bedroom units and 30 two-bedroom units offering affordable rental rates for residents who are aged 55 and older and who earn 30% to 70% area median income. Rents range from $315 to $830 per month depending on income restriction and size of unit. Move-in specials are offered at this time, including $99 security deposits and first month free rent.

Apartments in the three-story building feature large living spaces; kitchens with ENERGY STAR appliances, including dishwashers; washer/dryer hookups; and plenty of storage. Interiors feature attractive finishes, quality cabinetry, and luxury vinyl tile flooring. Community spaces include a multipurpose room with kitchenette, a fitness center, grandchild playroom and outdoor amenities including a playground, picnic area and benches.

Hemming Crossing is made possible with funding supported by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) allocated by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). OHFA also provided an equity bridge loan. Marble Cliff Capital provided equity financing in exchange for LIHTC credits. Consumer National Bank provided a first mortgage, construction loan. Appalachian Growth Capital provided a second soft loan. PCI Design Group was architect, with Woda Construction Inc., serving as general contractor.
