Grapplers finish busy week with unblemished mark

The Warrior wrestlers had a bustling week participating in a triangular, a conference match and a quad in the same week.

Carrollton was the winner, defeating every team they faced on the mat. Seven wrestlers went undefeated through the competitions. They included seniors, Troy Lane and Evan Lewis, and freshmen Kolten Barker, Josh Carman, Levi Pidgeon and Kail Snair. The Warrior grapplers posted 32 pins against six teams.

The team traveled to Boardman Jan. 12 for a triangular competition with Boardman and Columbiana. The Warrior came away with two wins, defeating Boardman 67-11 and Columbiana 60-19.

The Warriors mauled the Canton South Wildcats 59-21 on the road Jan. 14 in Eastern Buckeye Conference action.

The Warriors hosted a quad competition with Buckeye Local, Canton Central Catholic and New Philadelphia Jan. 16 in the high school gymnasium. They defeated Buckeye Local 72-10; Canton Central Catholic, 78-6 ; and New Philadelphia, 62-13.
