Most people think of the Algonquin Mill Festival as a once-a-year event.
While the celebration is held annually on the second weekend of October at the Mill Complex in Petersburg, officials are offering residents a chance to enjoy mill products during the “off-season.”
Officials are selling sauerkraut ($7 per quart), buckwheat flour (2-lb bag for $5) wholewheat flower ($4 per bag) and cornmeal ($3 per bag) on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or other days by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call Mill Manager Mike Mangun at 330-627-5910.
To purchase items on a Thursday, the regular work day for mill volunteers, visit either the mill barn or the one room school house.
