Malvern teen shot, killed in Texas

A funeral is scheduled this Thursday for a 16-year-old Malvern teen who was shot in Texas last week while visiting his family.
Landin Dawson Robinson and his cousin, Klayton Manning, 18, were shot while riding a side-by-side vehicle on a country road near Luling, TX.
Robinson was born and raised in Luling until 2019 when he moved to Malvern.
He was a member of the Malvern football team and active in many other sports throughout his life.

He was a member of FFA and involved in shooting and building guns with his stepdad. He also enjoyed video games, fishing and his dog Bentley.
According to an obituary published on the O’Bannon Funeral Home website, he was known to be very sweet, loving, and protective of his family and friends.
He is survived by his dad Justin Robinson, and wife Jackie Robinson from Luling, TX; mother Amber Hise and Waylon Terry of Malvern; three sisters, Kaitlyn, Maddison, and Jacey Robinson of Luling; grandparents Vernon and Debbie Hise of Malvern; Darrell and Sandra Robinson of Luling; Neal and Sherry Barrett, Lamesa, TX, James and Brenda Dresner, Seguin, TX, and great-grandmother, Audrey Robinson; aunts, Amanda Manning, Luling, and Heather Hise of Malvern; Uncle Clif and Aunt Kristi Green, Granbury, TX, and several cousins.
He will be buried beside his best friend and cousin, Klayton Manning, in Luling Cemetery following a funeral service at the Luling Football Field at 10 a.m.
Malvern school officials said counselors will be available for students to speak with during the next few weeks.
