Malvern held its annual Dancing in the Park on Sept. 10. Many vendors and some tractors were on display.

The Malvern Community Development Fund (MCDF) sponsored the annual Dancing in the Park event Sept. 10 that included stage performances by Luke Shreffler, Liberty Bridge Band, Saxy Rob and DJ’s Big Band.

There was children’s play area, basket raffle, beer garden, as well as several food and craft vendors.

The 911 Traveling Memorial was available for viewing to honor those who lost their lives in the tragic attack.

With the newly installed mural on display from last year’s earnings, the MCDF has its sights set on raising funds to create a parking lot and possibly some green space in the area surrounding the old fire station on Water St.

“Since there is very limited parking available in downtown, this will benefit local businesses and encourage new businesses to come to Malvern,” said Administrator Susan Joyce in a recent release. “It will also make it easier for locals and visitors to go to restaurants, shop and conduct business.  Que Pasa restaurant will open soon and will join the Café on the Corner, Waneda’s Restaurant and the Firehouse Grill.”

The MCDF intends to hold the event in the park for the foreseeable future and is a non-profit organization which has made improvements in Malvern since 2004.
