ODOT safety study focuses on section of Canton Rd.

Village Administrator Mark Wells updated Carrollton Council on projects and studies within the village at the June 8 meeting.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is conducting a safety study on Canton Rd. ODOT is tabulating accident information over the past 10 years from Daringer Ave. to Bacon Rd. The purpose of the study is to analyze the crash trends along the segment with primary emphasis on the high priority segment from the intersection at 12th St. NW, and approximately 650 feet south of Speedway. Counter measures will be recommended to mitigate any safety or congestion issues.
Possible assistance would be extending the left turn lane from 175 feet to 225 feet long or putting mandatory right turn only options from businesses. Wells said ODOT is looking for both short-term and long-term solutions. Wells and representatives from the police and street departments will review the study and submit comments by the end of June.
