Lady Rockets to compete for district title

After becoming the first team in Conotton Valley Schools history to be sectional softball champions, the Lady Rockets continue their quest as they face Tuscarawas Central Catholic May 19 at the Carrollton Field of Dreams at 5 p.m. for the district championship.

The Lady Rockets played Caldwell in the district tournament at Franklin Park in Strasburg May 10. They scored two in the first inning and never looked back. They posted seven hits in the contest, led by Delaney Peters and Ellie Bower at the plate, both with two hits on the night. Masy Baker, Tabby Stuber and Chloe Stuber each had a hit. Baker had another strong night on the mound with 15 strikeouts over seven innings in the 5-1 win.
