Lady Rockets lead contingent headed to district bowling events

Conotton Valley leads a contingent of five area bowling teams and three individuals competing in district action this week.

The Lady Rockets won the Division II East District Sectional at St. Clair Lanes in St. Clairsville Feb. 11 in a field of nine teams.  Sandy Valley won the girls Division II  East District sectional at Boulevard Lanes at Dover and Carrollton placed second.

The Minerva and Carrollton boys teams punched their tickets to district competition as well. The Lions placed second at the Division II East District sectional at Boulevard Lanes. Conotton Valley placed fifth in the eight team field. The Warriors placed in the top three at at St. Clair Lanes and qualified,  but official results were not available.

Two Lady  Lions – Shelby Worrell and Gretchen Cogan – qualified as individuals along with Conotton Valley boys bowler Bobby Brennan.

The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team move on to district action, scheduled for Sunrise Strikes in Zanesville (weather permitting)
