Kishman’s IGA presented a check for $3,000 to the Carroll County Animal Protection league last week, representing proceeds from a fundraiser held prior to Governor Mike DeWine issuing the Stay at Home order.
A representative for Kishman’s IGA presented the CCAPL with a check for $3,000. The funds raised included $571.61 for Pennies for Paws; $1,163.94 for Purchase a Paw; $116.14 for Carroll County Apple Pie; and $411.05 for Dutch Apple Pie. The fundraisers totaled $2,362.74. Along with hosting the fundraisers, Kishman’s IGA donated $737.26 to bring the total to $3,000.
The check will be used at the CCAPL’s no-kill animal shelter for FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) wall covering panels in many of the main rooms for disinfecting and where water will be used.  The approximate cost of this FRP installation will be around $8,000. Construction will be started in early summer.
Jim Hetrick and his grandson, Austin Shepard of Minerva, made badges and donated them to the CCAPL to hand out and give to people who donated to the fundraiser the first two weeks in March when volunteers set up a display at Kishman’s.
“We send a huge thank you to Tom and Jan and the Kishman’s crew,” said Dale Fox, CCAPL volunteer. “A special thank you to the customers for their pennies.”
