The American Legion #375 of Malvern has been working with the Great Trail Fire District and Santa Claus to make this year’s Santa visit special at the North Station.
Hundreds of toys will be given to children after they visit Santa on Dec. 21.
“Each child will receive one toy after visiting Santa Claus and will get a ticket for the drawing of a bike or a scooter,” said Legion member and organizer Dick Ferguson. “We have 10 bikes and two razor scooters this year.”
Leftover toys will go to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and Sheriff Calvin Graham will find families in need who suffered from accidents or fires.
Special thanks to David and Amber Huffman of A&D Bargain Outlet for donations.
“We do good and last year we helped 386 kids and 92 kids at Carroll Hills,” said Ferguson. “We want the kids to walk out of the building with what they want after they visit Santa. We let the kids go and pick for themselves because they know what they really want.”
