The Carroll County Daffodil Sale began “on a cold November night in 1973” when Carroll County Extension Agent Jim Clay and a group of locals involved in the dairy industry met to see if there was enough interest or a need for a dairy sale.

The sale was held yearly (except 1990) the last Tuesday of March every year through 2018. After COVID-19 hit and the sale was not held for the second year in a row, the current committee decided to halt the sale and disband.
