Early voting begins Oct. 8 for Nov. 5 election

Early voting for the Nov. 5 presidential election begins next week and continues through Nov. 3

According to Cheri Whipkey, Carroll County director of elections, early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 8. It will also be the first day absentee ballots will be sent to those who have requested one. 

The Carroll County Board of Elections, located on the lower level of the Carroll County Courthouse, will be open the following days and times for early in-person voting:

Oct. 8 -Oct. 18: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oct. 21-25: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 26: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 27: 1-5 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 29, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 30 -Nov. 1: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 2: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 3: 1-5 p.m.

Anyone wishing to receive an absentee ballot must complete and return an Absentee Ballot Application. Persons can receive the application by requesting one from the board of elections office, going online to the secretary of state’s website, www.Ohiosos.gov or the board of elections website, boe.ohio.gov/Carroll. 

The secretary of state’s office also mailed applications to every registered voter in the state in mid-September. Voters should only complete and send one application. 

The last day to return the application is Oct. 29 at 8:30 p.m. to the board of elections office or by placing it in the drop box outside the side entrance to the Carroll County Courthouse.
