Alex Carrothers

Alex Carrothers, a 2020 graduate of Carrollton High School, became the second athlete in over 20 years to earn 12 varsity sports letters while maintaining a grade point average to qualify as a scholar athlete.
Carrothers lettered four times as a member of the cross country, wrestling and track teams.
His brother, Noah, earned 11 varsity letters.
Athletic Director Jason Eddy said Beth McAbier was likely the last person to accomplish the fete in 2000. McAbier lettered four times in softball, volleyball and basketball. She went on to play softball for The Ohio State Lady Buckeyes.
Eddy noted varsity letters were awarded to all senior athletes scheduled to participate in spring sports in 2020. They also received Eastern Buckeye Conference scholar athlete awards based on their third nine-weeks grade point average (3.4 required to earn award).
