Carrollton FFA officers are planning a variety of activities to take place Feb. 22-26 during National FFA Week, 2021.

There will be spirit day each day of the week. Students can dress like a teacher on Monday.  Tuesday will be beach day, complete with Hawaiian shirts. Students can dress for the wild west Wednesday, while Thursday is reserved for throwback to your favorite decade. For Friday, students may need to borrow something from their grandparents, because it is senior citizen day.

It is tradition each year for FFA officers to prepare a breakfast for all dues paying FFA members complete with pancakes, eggs, sausage and fruit. The breakfast will be served during student lunch periods. In addition to breakfast, a general FFA meeting will be held one evening, with an alumni/parent meeting being scheduled for the same time. This meeting will include general business, as well as, the discussion of spring contests such as meat and livestock judging opportunities. There are also plans for a game of cornhole after the meeting.

Later in the week FFA officers will provide a lesson during each Ag class. The lesson is still in planning stages, but will focus on leadership or community service and will include several hands-on activities. Officers have been told to think “State Officer visit” style. This lesson will be used as a recruitment tool for young members. Students have missed out on numerous district and state FFA events this year due to the pandemic and Carrollton FFA officers want to bring some energy to young members to get them more involved in the chapter.

Carrollton FFA officers include: Faith Dillon, president; Jessi Cramer, vice president; Madi Baker, secretary; Bryanna Renicker, treasurer; Lucy Pridemore, reporter; Ryan Worth, sentinel; and Anissa Flanagan, student advisor.
