Car of the Week competition

A “Car of the Week” will be chosen from those at the Carrollton Cruise In held each Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. on Public Square.

A guest judge will choose the winner based on his or her criteria. The owner and the “ride” will be featured in The Messenger. 

The first week winner was Rich Henderson’s 1958 Chevy. “It’s a street rod not your grandpa’s old car,” Henderson said. “I like it because it’s different and it’s the car I learned to drive in. Same year, but different car.”

Henderson decided to hold the cruise-in after the closure of Ponderosa. 
Henderson likes cruise-ins because: “You have the chance to meet really nice people, see some awesome rides and it’s another reason to drive the old Chevy,” he said.
