Canton man dies from injuries in SR 212 crash

A Canton man died Aug. 20 from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash on SR 212 in Carroll County. 

Sergeant Gary Wolfe of the New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m.  seven-tenths of mile east of the Tuscarawas County line. 

Wolfe said Paul V. Tuzzio, 53, was westbound on SR 212. While negotiating a curve to the left, his 2007 Harley Davidson went off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert. 

Tuzzio was pronounced dead at Aultman Hospital later in the day. Wolfe said Tuzzio was not wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation. 

Regional EMS, based in Sherrodsville, Carroll County Sheriff deputies and Rocky’s Towing assisted at the scene. 

It was the third fatal crash in 2022.
