Burchfield earns spot on national corn hole team

Trey Burchfield of Carrollton is one of eight American Corn Hole League (ACL) professionals who qualified to play on the first-ever USA National team.

The team will represent the U.S. on the international stage with the goal of increasing awareness of corn hole and introducing the sport to the Olympics.

Burchfield earned a spot on the team by winning the singles championship during the Johnsonville USA Cornhole National Championship the weekend of Oct. 16-18 at Rock Hill, NC. He landed 23 of 24 bags in the hole during the competition.

He is a senior at Carrollton High school and earned a world championship in the pro doubles competition in August at Rock Hill, NC,  with his partner Derrick King.
