Buckeye Career Center Superintendent Bob Alsept released the following statement concerning a lockdown at the facility this morning:
“Buckeye Career Center was placed on a soft lockdown this morning due to an electronic threat that was received by a student from a family member. In an abundance of caution, we secured all students, staff and visitors from Tusky Valley, TCC, and Carrollton.
Working with the New Phila Police Department, the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement agencies were able to identify and arrest the person suspected of making the threat. At no time were any students or staff in danger and the lock down was lifted once the suspect was detained.”
