Sally Bernhart was hired by Dellroy Council as the fiscal officer after a 96-minute executive session during the March meeting.

Council began its executive session at 6 p.m. to accommodate interviews of five applicants. During the personnel committee section of the regular session, council unanimously voted to hire Bernhart at a salary of $500 per month.

Mayor Doug Ruby inquired how they plan to handle community building rentals after Clerk Candice Ruby’s resignation becomes effective March 31, as she has been performing the task. Council Member Amy Harkless advised the building committee plans to meet once a month, and is currently working on how rentals will be coordinated.

In other discussion, Chip Saunier, owner of Sure Fix Auto, was present to advise his dumpster is not blocking the road near his property. Saunier explained he is currently in the process of getting titles for some of the cars on his lot, and when he is successful in removing those vehicles the dumpster will be moved further onto his property.

Solicitor Jenna Hokes reported she had been contacted by Saunier and is working with him to assist in obtaining the needed titles.
