The most recent Buckeye Career Center student-built “Buckeye House” is scheduled to be sold at public auction May 9, at 6 p.m. Public viewings are scheduled for April 23, April 30, and May 7, all from 1-3 p.m.
The single-family home is located at 2039 Brookside Dr., New Philadelphia.
Construction on the home began in August of 2021 and concluded in the beginning of April 2023. The custom-built ranch home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, custom-built cabinets, LVT wood flooring, and a brick and tile fireplace. The bedrooms include walk-in closets and the master bath features a tiled walk-in shower. Covered front and back porches complete the modern, open-concept home.
Auction terms are as follows, as announced on the Barnett Realtor’s website: “House to sell on confirmation of the sellers. A 10% non-refundable deposit due day of auction with balance due at closing. No contingencies will be added and there is no buyers premium on this auction. Buckeye students in Construction Technology, Energy Operations, Masonry, Landscaping, HVAC-R, and Electrical Systems Technology had a role in building the house. Buckeye officials say the construction project provides real-world training for students hoping to enter the construction field. “The Buckeye House gives on-the-job experience for our students through the entire building process,” said Assistant Principal Trent Edie. “It’s really a great learning sample for our students.”
