Baker, Bright chosen as students of month

Jacob Baker and Cailyn Bright were named Senior Students of the Month for September at Carrollton High School.
Baker is the son of Brent and Shannon Baker of Carrollton. He has two brothers and two sisters, Madilynn, 15, a sophomore; Juliana, 7, 2nd grade; Clayton, 5, preschool; and Lane, 2.
At CHS, he is vice president of the senior class and a member of the National Honor Society and Youth2Youth. He is a member of the Carroll County 4-H program and is involved in track and sled hockey.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys fishing, hunting and hanging out with friends.
He plans to attend Northeast Ohio Medical University to become a pharmacist.
When asked what teacher, coach, family member or special friend influenced him and why, Jacob said, “The teacher who influenced me the most would be Ms. Hauenstein. She always encourages me to be the best I can be.”
His advice for success in life? “Take every opportunity you can and live life to the fullest.”
Bright is the daughter of Dave and Dana Bright of Carrollton. She has a sister who is a junior in college.
At CHS, Cailyn is a member of the bowling team, drama club, prayer warriors, chamber chorus and Youth2youth club. She is the senior class president and a member of student council and National Honor Society. She assists with the weekend backpack program and is a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church youth group.
Her hobbies include teaching kids how to bowl, watching movies and hanging out with friends.
Cailyn plans to attend the University of Akron, obtain a degree in Education and become a high school math teacher.
Who influenced her? “Mr. Kidd influenced me because he made me realize that I loved teaching others and you always strive to be the best person you can be.”
Her advice for success in life, “Do what makes you happy!”
