October – Mondays – Lunch 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. by donation at the Warren Twp. Community Center on SR 212 in New Cumberland.  Includes many sides, dessert and a drink. Plus, The Loft Resale Shop open 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  

Oct. 7 – American Legion Post 428 “26 Week Club” Fish Fry meal at 5:30 p.m. at VFW Post 3301, Chase Rd., Carrollton.

Oct. 8 – Fire Safety Story Time at Malvern Branch Library from 10:30-11:30 a.m. For ages 6 and younger. Stories, crafts and games. For info, call 330-863-0636. The library is located at 710 E. Porter St., Malvern.

Oct. 9 – Men’s Rally in the Valley at Covelli Center in Youngstown. “Be United in Christ with Sidewalk Prophets”. Doors open at 7 a.m. Begins at 8:45 a.m. Visit www.mensrally.org for info.

Oct. 12 – Suburban Garden Club meeting at Ashton House Museum, 120 3rd St. NW, Carrollton, at 6 p.m. Toolbox – designing and recommended garden tools (fee required). New members welcome.

Oct. 16 – Pumpkin Hill oil painting with Lynda Rimkie at Carroll County Arts Center 1-3:30 p.m. $35. Register at 330-627-3739.

Oct. 16 – Baked Pork Loin Dinner at Carrollton VFW Post 3301, Chase Rd. from 5-8 p.m. Open to public. Carryout available.

Oct. 23 – Bluebird Farm Park Chili Cook-Off at The Barn at Carroll Community Park on SR 39 from 12-5 p.m. Variety of chilis, two breweries, OSU game streaming. $10 for people’s choice division, $20 for pro. Enter by Oct. 20 by calling Carroll County Park District at 330-627-8046.
