Area teams remain in the hunt for football playoff slots

Carrollton fell one slot to No. 5 in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) football standings in Division IV, Region 15 after falling to West Branch last Friday. Undefeated Bloom-Carroll remains atop the region, followed by St. Clairsville (6-1), Indian Valley (4-1) and John Glenn (4-2), all ahead of the Warriors (5-2). Golden ladle up for grabs at chili cook-off

The Carroll County Park District’s 4th annual Chili Cook-off is planned Oct. 23 from 12 -5 p.m. Guests are welcome to unlimited chili by donation and will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. Regional Planning seeking members

The Carroll County Regional Planning Commission is accepting applications for citizen members. There are three open seats, which offer three-year terms. There is no remuneration for serving on the commission.  The group meets quarterly on the third Tuesday of January, May, August, and November at 6:30 p.m. in the village of Carrollton Municipal Building. Special  meetings may be called if the need arises. Elections will be held at the November meeting.
