Storms leave trail of destruction

Severe thunderstorms that rolled through the area Aug. 27 left behind a path of destruction. Carroll County Emergency Management Agency Director Tom Cottis said the National Weather Service determined straight winds passed through the northern end of the county, causing damage to trees and powerlines.
